Weather Advisory

I find such comfort in the harshest weather.
There is wisdom in looking to the horizon and
knowing clouds can not cover the earth forever.
The rain sways with the wind, ever falling, but
conventional wisdom says it must have an end.

When I was younger I used to sit in the rain,
laughing at the thunder, using my bare feet
to stop the flow of waste water in the gutter.
I watched in wonder as pressure would build
and overflow. There is no stopping the rain
from seeking the comfort of the ground below.

These days storms still loom ominously overhead.
Dark shadows paint the ground that I call home.
I dare not stray far from this land for I know
their eyes will follow me wherever I may roam.
I would break the monotony of rainy seasons with
someone unafraid of thunder, lightning and hail.
Someone to love me, to be the wind in my sails.

Would you join me on the sidewalk by the gutter?
Would you sit by my side in the pouring rain and
make me believe you adore me like none other?
We can talk about life, love, and perhaps pain.
We can contemplate where it all leads, this life,
and whether or not the fertile fruit of the storm
is but wasted once we allow it to reach the drain.

Portrait/Logo

One man searching for a guiding light through darkness. One mind searching for the keys to greatness. One soul searching for truth in a world of lies. One heart, beating in turn, waiting to proclaim eternal love.
